Terms of Service

Last updated: May 10, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Piggybak, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

2. Who Can Use Piggybak

You must be at least 18 years old. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not use Piggybak if we've previously suspended your account.

3. How Piggybak Works

Piggybak supports three primary interactions:

  • Business — A user who lists offers and pays commissions to locals who refer paying customers.
  • Local — A user who shares business offers with their network and earns commissions on resulting sales.
  • Buyer — Anyone who claims an offer to purchase or schedule with a business.

Any user can act in more than one role — for example, a local can also become a business by listing their own offers.

4. Payments and Commissions

All payments are processed by Stripe, including Stripe Connect for payouts to businesses and locals. By using Piggybak you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms.

Commission terms (rate, structure, payout timing) are set by each business individually and disclosed before a local creates a referral link. Piggybak takes a platform fee disclosed at the time of transaction.

Refunds are handled by the originating business; Piggybak facilitates but does not adjudicate disputes between buyers and businesses.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Piggybak for fraudulent transactions or to launder money.
  • Create fake accounts or referrals.
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam.
  • Impersonate another person or business.
  • Use the platform in any way that violates US, state, or local law.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you've violated these terms.

6. Off-Platform Bypassing

Piggybak's business model depends on transactions originated by Piggybak referrals being processed through Piggybak. If a buyer claims an offer through a referral link, the resulting purchase must be facilitated through Piggybak's payment infrastructure.

Routing such a transaction off-platform — to avoid the commission or platform fee — is a material breach of these terms and grounds for immediate account suspension.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain rights to content you submit (business descriptions, personal notes on referrals, etc.). By submitting content, you grant Piggybak a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use that content in connection with operating and promoting the platform.

8. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

9. Disclaimers

PIGGYBAK IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We make no guarantees about uptime, transaction completion, or financial outcomes. Use at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Piggybak's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the fees you've paid to Piggybak in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Piggybak and its operators (including Stripe and other third-party service providers) against claims arising from your misuse of the platform or violation of these terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Piggybak will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated by email to all account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
